Scentless Depths
An exhibition–meditation on water as essence, as presence, as depth.
We invite artists to engage with water not merely as subject, but as method, rhythm, and resonance — to explore stillness that carries force, and silence that speaks.
About the Project
This exhibition draws inspiration from two timeless Chinese expressions: “True water has no scent” and ”Still water runs deep.”
They evoke quiet power — presence that doesn’t announce itself, clarity without display.
In a time of excess, noise, and constant self-exposure, Scentless Depths invites artists to encounter the invisible— the internal flow and the weightless resonance.
Who Can Apply
Artists from around the world are welcome to submit.
What We’re Looking For:
- Works that channel stillness or fluidity and transformation
- Practices that engage water as medium, space, rhythm — not only as motif
- Expressions of internal flow, subtle movement without spectacle
- Projects exploring transparency, dissolution, permeability
- Gestures showing tension between surface and depth, visibility, and disappearance
Accepted Formats: all media are welcome, including but not limited to installation, sculpture, painting, photography, video, sound, textile
We Offer:
- Opportunity to exhibit in a Paris gallery
- Recommendation letters for selected artists (good for grants and visas applications)
- Online gallery platform and social media promotion
- Certificate of participation
- Local art media exposure
- Networking, residency-like exchange during the exhibition
- Possible artworks sales
Exhibition Info: Le Marais, Paris; late September 2025
Participation Terms:
- €200 — exhibition of works for 3 days
- €380 — exhibition of works for 5 days
- Delivery of artworks to and from Paris is at the artist’s expense
